Beachcombing for colorful beach pebbles is something I absolutely love. I am lucky enough to have one of the best beaches for these types of stones nearby, and as I was running low on colored and patterned stones I decided to go on another collecting walk today, and thought I would share my finds with you!
My local beach is very small, but luckily as you can see from the main image of this blog post, is full of wonderful beach pebbles in a myriad of shapes and colors. I took another photo of the beach, which is below.
As with most beaches, if you look closely, certain shapes and colors of beach pebble tend to ‘clump’ together in different areas. One particular color on this particular beach does this more than any other; orange!
I set to work near the tide line, where the stones are wet. By looking here you can always see the true colors of the beach pebbles, untarnished by sand and salt. Don’t be afraid to get down on your hands and knees if you can, or crouch, as this gives you a much better viewpoint to find the best stones.
Here is the first wonderful collection I found:
After a little more hunting, I put together this second set:
I carried on and collected in total, around 30 really good stones today, some of which will make it into the shop.
